It was just set up like that when i started using a couple of months ago and I wasn’t aware of the choice. I have 4gb of ram and wonder if I am not getting the full use of this in 32 bit.

And by the ot, Stillwell is one notable laggard when it comes to upgrading their plugins to bit. In fact if they released Bombardier and a few others in bit I’d buy them instantly. Half of my plugin aren’t working in 64 bit, so it’s kind of pita. I’ve been looking for 64 bit plugin which shows audio waveform, like smexoscope, but no luck loyic. By wiik , January 13, in Logic Pro. For fun I ran the benchmark test evanlogicmulticorebencmark. Results on my Mac Pro 8×2. I used Superior Drummer on one InstTrack and in 32bit mode there is hardly any CPU activity noticable but in 64 bit version its going bezerk. I am aware that 3rd party plgins performance alwways causes issues until proper updates are released, so we ll just have to wait till than to get the full experience out of it.

But there is notable speed boost of loading projects and DAW startup in 9. Looks like it probably depends on the plugin. Moving audio between a bit process and a bit process is not free. True, but according to Apple this should be minimal – and it would be slower in bit mode, not faster.
